CAMPBELL, CA -- Force Computers Inc has extended its line of reduced-instruction-set-computer (RISC) VME boards with this month's announcement of its first in-house-designed Sparc system. (An earlier Force Sparc product was, in fact, a Sun Microsystems design that Force was licensed to manufacture.) Force has forged a two-pronged strategy for its newly announced CPU-2 board family, which includes both a CPU-2E VMEbus board and a CPU-2S VME-sized (6U) board. The CPU-2S comes without an actual VMEbus interface.
