A sizeable number of developers is convinced that for test-and-measurement applications, manipulating icons is more intuitive, less time consuming, and easier than writing code in words. If you agree, you might find one or both of two new MS-Windows V3.1-based software packages to be exactly what you need. Both are versions of HP VEE, a Hewlett-Packard product, which when first announced about 2-1/2 years ago ran only on workstations under HP-UX. Now, HP is supplying a Windows version that works with IEEE-488 instruments and VXIbus modules. As the result of a year-long alliance with HP, Data Translation is supplying the second package, DT VEE for Windows, which supports its ISA bus data-acquisition boards.
