CMOS voltage reference provides accuracy, low temperature coefficient.(National Semiconductor LM4130 low-dropout regulator)(Product Announcement)

EDN, December, 1999 by Schweber, Bill

THERE'S A GOOD REASON for the plethora of voltage age-reference and -regulator ICs: Each tries to manage and optimize, in different combinations, a gaggle of conflicting performance trade-offs. The LM4130 low-dropout regulator from National Semiconductor decreases your compromise barrier by combining 0.05% accuracy, 75-[micro] A quiescent CMOS power consumption, and 10 ppm/[degrees] C temperature coefficient from -40 to 85 [degrees] C, all in an SOT-23 package. You can order 2.048, 2.5, or 4.096V output voltages; maximum output current is 20 mA, and maximum dropout voltage is 275 mA at 10-mA load. For applications not requiring the initial accuracy or temperature coefficient of the highest grade device, National also offers versions that are accurate to just 0.5% and...
