* DIGITAL-COMMUNICATIONS PROCESSOR SIMPLIFIES NETWORKING APPLICATIONS. The C5 from C-Port digital-communications processor extends flexibility from C/C programmable RISC cores down to configurable pin logic supporting physical interfaces from DS1 to OC-48. Each digital-communications processor contains 16 programmable channel processors with its own RISC core and two serial-data processors for receiving, processing, and transmitting cells and packets, supporting Layer 2 through Layer 7 functions. Each processor can support a different physical interface ranging from DS1 to OC-3 with full-duplex forwarding at full-wire speeds for a maximum aggregate rate of OC-48.
