Op amp provides near-zero drift, high accuracy.(Linear Technology's Linear Technology LTC2050 signal converter)(Brief Article)(Product Announcement)

EDN, March, 2000 by Schweber, Bill

DRIFT AND ACCURACY PERFORMANCE take a disproportionate amount of your time in precision analog-signal-conditioning circuits for precision sensors, because they are difficult--if not impossible--to fully calibrate. The LTC2050 op amp from Linear Technology combines low drift and high dc accuracy in an SOT-23 package. It provides 3-[micro]V maximum input offset voltage with just 30-nV/ [degrees] C offset drift and without external compensation components or postassembly trim.

The op amp features 3-MHz gain-bandwidth product, 2V/[micro]sec slew rate, and less-than- 1.5-[micro] V pp noise from dc to 10 Hz. Minimum and typical power-supply and common-mode rejection ratio are 120 and 130 dB, respectively. The rail-to-rail output, single-supply device operates...
