Improv Systems based its new Jazz Quintet reference platform on the Jazz DSP architecture. Quintet lets you develop code and evaluate the Jazz platform. You can evaluate the Quintet using the Jazz Quintet Rehearsal Board. Improv configured the Quintet with five Jazz DSP cores; it can perform as many as 7 billion operations/sec at a clock frequency of 100 MHz. The device is fabricated on a 0.2-micron process technology from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. The evaluation board contains one Jazz Quintet chip and a fully compliant PCI interface that allows you to download application software on a standard Windows NT platform.
