Fairchild Semiconductor and Innoveda now offer a point-to-point simulator for modeling, evaluating, and testing LVDS ICs. Simulated environments include pc traces, connector and cable configurations, and backplane traces. Users can modify connector characteristics to optimize signal integrity and analyze performance boundaries across a range of frequencies and trace lengths. Stimuli include clock and pseudorandom-bit sequence. The free simulator is available from Fairchild's EnSigna Lab at www.ednmag.com, click on the Reader Service link and enter no. 369.
