SINGLE-CHIP POWER SUPPLY FOR 64-BIT SLEDGEHAMMER AND CLAWHAMMER CPUs

The LTC3719 is a PolyPhase high power synchronous step-down controller with 5-bit VID interface. The 5-bit VID code of the LTC3719 corresponds to the core voltage range of AMD's Hammer family of CPUs. The LTC3719 offers a single-chip solution by integrating MOSFET drivers that are capable of driving 3300pF of gate capacitance. A design using the LTC3719 is small, cost-effective, efficient and provides minimum thermal stress on external components for high system reliability. The IC is housed in a 36-lead SSOP package.

SINGLE-IC SOLUTION

Integrated MOSFET drivers eliminate the need for two 8-pin external drivers (See Figure 1).
