CELOXICA LTD HAS RELEASED DK1.1, a new version of its Handel-C-to-hardware-design suite. It now supports the use of C/C functions called from Handel-C descriptions as well as Handel-C functions called from C/C programs. It also supports the use of C/C testbenches to verify Handel-C programs. You can output both Verilog and VHDL formats for a number of synthesis and simulation tools, allowing you to debug a design using traditional HDL tools. DK 1.1 users can directly target Xilinx (www.altera.com) Excalibur EPXA10.
DK 1.1 has improved synthesis results and enabled early timing and area analysis through a new technology mapper that maps functions to look-up tables rather than to gates. This approach allows the timing-analysis engine to give designers...
