Book reveals secrets of home networks.(leading edge)

When I first saw Home Networking Basis by Walter Y Chen, I thought two things: That's an odd title, and why do I need a book about how fun and easy it is to set up your network, place the access points, perhaps drill holes and route wires, and similar? I quickly found that the book's subtitle, Transmission Environments and Wired/Wireless Protocols, is on target, and this book is great.

The book (Prentice Hall, 2004, ISBN 0-13-016511-5) targets the knowledgeable engineering audience and provides a span and depth of information that may be available in bits and pieces elsewhere, but not all together in one place and with a clear organization.
