Legend has it that the idea for the Weston Beach Race came to a Welsh chap having a pint at the pub with his mates, according to Phil Roberts. Roberts, director and club steward for RHL Activities Ltd., explained, "The competitive racing season finishes the first week in October. There's a fair gap until the new year."
