Meyers & Sons files suit over skirt clips.

American Drycleaner, February, 2001

New York-based manufacturer A. Meyers & Sons filed suit in U.S. District Court seeking a judgement declaring that its patented "Clip-On" plastic skirt clips do not infringe on a patent held by Evansville, Ind.-based Clipps Inc.

According to Meyers, Clipps Inc. made unfounded claims outside of court that the Meyers product infringes on its "Radvin" product, U.S. Patent No. 5,159,730. Meyers is seeking an injunction preventing Clipps from making further accusations, plus reimbursement for damages and costs involved with the dispute.

Founded in 1898, Meyers is a third-generation wholesale distributor of supplies to the garment-manufacturing, drycleaning and laundry trades.
