Small-biz health plan bill goes to Senate.(TALK OF THE TRADE)

A committee of the U.S. Senate passed legislation that would allow small businesses to band together to offer health insurance coverage to workers. The measure was approved with no amendments as part of SB1955, the Health Insurance Marketplace Modernization & Affordability Act.
"With the rising number of uninsured workers and constantly spiraling costs of healthcare, America's small businesses must be allowed to pool their risk and create economies of scale so they can provide coverage," says Matthew Shay, president of the International Franchise Association (IFA).
