10 YEARS AGO. Procter & Gamble has introduced a new "home drycleaning" product--Dryel. The product claims to remove stains with a spot-cleaning solution; then uses a treated cloth and reusable bag to deodorize tip to four garments when tumbled in a home dryer for 30 minutes. One operator who received an early sample of the product forecasts "'a lot of press-only work, if it takes off."

The Center for Emissions Control has published a Spanish-language edition of The Safe Handling of Perchloroethylene Drycleaning Solvent "in response to modest demand," another story says. The booklet is available from industry associations alongside its English and Korean versions.
