Dr. Josef Kurz is celebrating his 50th anniversary at the Hohenstein Institutes, the independent textile research centre in Bonnigheim, Germany, where he serves as deputy director.
The acclaimed scientist and his team have been responsible for many innovations in the textile sciences, including advances in drycleaning, colorimetry, detergency, ecology and hygiene. The Hohenstein Institutes have also developed new areas of research and business opportunities in clothing care in cooperation with organizations throughout the world.
Upon leaving school, Kurz took an apprenticeship at a small dye house near his hometown of Illertissen, Germany. After the two-year apprenticeship, he trained as a textile engineer at the Hohenstein Technical Academy,...
