Dynatem Inc. has announced the an SBC designed for manufacturers and OEMs in the network attached storage (NAS), RAID and personal server marketplaces. OEMs can use the ENC1 to build NAS, mail servers, firewall, routers and Web servers within a few hours. The ENC1 is powered by the Intel Xscale[TM] processor -- the RISC CPU with clock rates reaching as high as 733 MHz. The standard configuration includes a 160 MBps (LVD) SCSI port, 8 MB of FLASH ROM and 128 MB of SDRAM. The ENC1 form factor is configured to take only a half height 5 1/4" slot on any external box or CPU case. It can be used as a stand-alone Linux server and an embedded RAID controller.
