SMART Modular Technologies, Inc. has announced the latest in its line of surface mount DC/DC converters, the KM series. Using 12 V input, the KM series converters provide 10 A of output current and require 1/3 square inch of board space (0.4" X 0.9"). The converters feature fast transient response times (>30 0 A/[micro]s) that help maintain stable output voltage regardless of load conditions, output enable (OE) and power good (PG), which help with sequencing requirements. The converters also feature remote sense (RS) and optional current sink capability. The SMV212KM10PGM lets the user select any output between 0.7 V and 5.5 V while allowing digital margining of the output by 5 percent of the normal output voltage.
