CML has released its Programmable Paging Decoder IC, the CMX823, for applications including Two-Tone and 5/6 Tone Pagers, Tone Alert Radios, Selective Calling systems (SELCALL), and Voice Pager Switching/Signaling. The device detects tones under all signaling conditions to better ensure emergency tone alerts are received and significantly increase the alert system coverage area. It supports user defined tones from 280 kHz to 3.5 Hz and allows users to create their own tone frequency alphabet to support standard and non-standard tone paging and radio systems. Typical operating current is 0.75 mA. The CMX823 can detect up to 32 user-defined tones to support a large population of receiver addresses.
