Silicon Wave and RF Micro Devices have announced their UltimateBlue[TM] Bluetooth single-chip IC, the SiW1722, designed to meet the rigorous RF, power and cost requirements of CDMA mobile phones using CDMA chipsets with an integrated Bluetooth baseband. Implemented on CMOS process technology, the direct conversion radio modem's on-chip RF matching feature eliminates all external RF matching components, making it suitable for direct PCB insertion. The SiW1722 IC is designed to consume up to 20 percent less power than previous Silicon Wave products. Its direct conversion architecture allows digital filtering for desirable interference rejection and fewer spurious responses.
