ECN-Electronic Component News, November, 2004
Atmel[R] has announced the fully integrated transceiver IC ATR2406 designed for low-cost cable replacement applications in the 2.4-GHz ISM band. This device addresses the need for low-complexity, wireless transceivers without networking capabilities that are easy to use and cost sensitive. Consumer applications include remote controls for toys, infotainment systems, set-top boxes, headsets and game consoles and industrial applications such as Electronic Point of Sales Systems (EPOS) diagnosis telemetry systems. The IC is manufactured using SiGe BiCMOS technology and packaged in an ultra-compact QFN32 plastic package (5 mm X 5 mm). The low-IF receiver architecture offers a desirable RF performance. The high receiver sensitivity of -93 dBm and high output power of up to 4...
