Fairchild Semiconductor has announced the RMPA2453, a linear RF Power Amplifier Module (PAM) for high-performance Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) applications in the 2.4-2.5 GHz frequency band. Optimized for 802.11b/g applications, the RMPA2453 features Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) performance of 2.5 percent. The high-performance RMPA2453 power amplifier internally matches both the input and output to 50W, and it provides an on-chip power-sensing detector with dual power-saving shutdown options. Features include 2.5 percent EVM at 18 dBm output, matched PA module operating with 3.3V single supply, two power-saving shutdown options (bias and logic control) and an integrated power detector with 20 dB dynamic range. The price is $0.60 each in 100,000-piece quantities....
