LAN switch supports Gigabit Ethernet LAN Switching.(Integrated Circuits & Semiconductors)

ECN-Electronic Component News, May, 2005

Texas Instruments has introduced its first LAN switch that supports Gigabit Ethernet LAN Switching. With the majority of notebook PCs on today's market requiring a method of switching Gigabit Ethernet LAN signals to a docking station, as well as Telecom Equipment requiring switching the Ethernet port from front to back of the rack, the TS3L301, eight-channel SPDT (2:1 Multiplexer/Demultiplexer) LAN Switch, is said to provide industry-leading band-width (900 MHz typ.) for successful implementation in today's systems. The device offers low input/output capacitance ([C.sub.on] = 6 pF typ.), low and flat ON-state resistance ([r.sub.on] = 4[ohm] typ., [r.sub.on (flat)] = 0.7[ohm] typ.), and low differential crosstalk (XTALK = -41 dB typ.). The low and flat On-state...
