Two-amp, Schottky diode for PC power supplies.(INTEGRATED CIRCUITS)

ECN-Electronic Component News, September, 2006

Cree has announced release of a 2A Zero Recovery[R] rectifier operating at 600V. This Schottky diode is intended for use in power supplies designed for desktop PCs. The SiC rectifier expands the Zero Recovery product line, which includes 1A, 4A, 6A, 10A, and 20A diodes. Cree's SiC-based Zero Recovery rectifiers can simplify power factor correction boost design by eliminating the need for snubbers and reducing component count and power losses, while producing less electromagnetic interference (EMI.) and supporting new design objectives for efficiency set forth by the EPA, California Electric Commission and other agencies. In production quantities, the CSD02060A (TO-220) is priced at less than $1/piece.
