(January 16, 2006) Rick Smith, president and CEO of Dairy Farmers of America for just the past 16 days, seemed to be signaling a greater willingness to work and collaborate with dairy processors in a keynote speech he gave yesterday to kick off Dairy Forum 2006 here in Palm Springs.

Smith says that with on-going world trade talks and the 2007 Farm Bill now on the horizon, there is moment of opportunity for industry collaboration. "We need to focus on where we can find agreement, and not on where we can't," he says.
