No link between dairy and prostate cancer.

Dairy Today, August, 2006

Byline: Jim Dickrell

A 10-year Victoria, Australia study involving more than 14,500 men shows no link between large intakes of dairy foods and prostate cancer, according to the Journal of Cancer Institutes.

The study contradicts an earlier study by Harvard University, which suggested an increased risk of prostate cancer when men consumed dairy in large amounts.

"We submitted our study to the same journal and it was published, and Harvard updated their review and their conclusion is now different," the Cancer Council's Gianluca Severi told ABS Premium News (Australia). "[The Harvard} conclusion is now there's no association between a high intake of dairy food and prostate cancer."
