River City Bank, Sacramento, Calif., participated in a unique promotion last year when it joined the Allpoint ATM network. Together with Allpoint, the bank utilized two "flight attendants" to promote the fact that the bank was giving away two free airline tickets to any U.S. destination where an Allpoint ATM is located.

Last year was the 40th anniversary of both the ATM and the Boeing 737 jet airplane.

The flight attendants dressed in '60s-style flight attendant uniforms and visited the bank's branches and also farmer's markets. The promoters passed out bagged pretzels with the Allpoint logo as well as "faux-ATM card" contest entry forms. Allpoint calls itself the nation's largest free ATM network.
