One of the quickest ways to change the look of a room is to add a rug. The same is true when it comes to children's spaces. A rug adds color and style, but it's not permanent. As a child grows and her tastes change, so can it.

The latest trends seem to be bright and bold. "Colors are very vivid. They're verging on neon," said Lou H. Webster, director of product development and design at Capel Rugs. She cited teen fashions, pop stars and movies as influences for the color explosion. Webster also said that patterns were more splashy. "We're seeing very bold stripes and plaids," she said.
