Congress won't help raw materials importers.(Brief Article)

KiplingerForecasts, November, 2005

Congress won't help raw materials importers. Lawmakers will quash legislation that would make it easier for industries that buy a lot of imported raw materials to challenge rulings by the International Trade Commission that lead to antidumping duties on imports. The U.S. steel industry opposes the measure, HR 4217, sponsored by Rep.

Joe Knollenberg (R-MI). Supporters include Ford, General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, Caterpillar, Illinois Tool Works, Emerson and Maytag.
