In 1994 he was appointed head of commercial banking and, shortly afterwards, managing director of HSBC Bank Australia Limited, which also included responsibility for the wholesale banking business of HSBC Bank plc's Sydney branch.

In January 1999, Mr Davis became chief executive officer of HSBC in Taiwan, where he was responsible for the personal and commercial banking operations of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation. He was appointed chief executive officer of HSBC in Australia 2002.

Andrew Downe Head of Treasury & Commodities Group, Macquarie Bank

Andrew Downe joined Macquarie Bank Limited in 1985. Following roles in futures and bullion, he became division director and joint head of bullion and commodities in 1993. From January 1994 to April 1997, Mr Downe was located offshore, developing joint ventures with Standard Bank of South Africa and Arab Malaysian Merchant Bank. During this period, he was promoted to executive director. He returned to Sydney to take up the position of head of the treasury and commodities group in April 1997. He is responsible for a business with over 550 staff and offices in Australia, South America, North America, United Kingdom and Asia.

Eric Drok Chief Executive Officer, ING Direct

Eric Drok was appointed chief executive officer of ING Direct Australia in February 2006. He runs the bank that pioneered branchless banking in Australia (when it launched in this country in August 1999) and is currently the nation's sixth largest retail bank. Prior to joining ING Direct Australia, Mr Drok was general manager sales and services at Postbank, one of the largest subsidiaries of the ING Group and the largest retail bank in the Netherlands. Prior to this, he was general manager ING Bank Netherlands, with responsibility for local corporate clients, 10,000 employees and 300 branches, followed by appointment as general manager retail with a greater focus on profit and sales of ING Bank, which has around one million SME and personal banking clients.

Craig Drummond Chief Executive Officer, Goldman Sachs JBWere

Goldman Sachs JBWere is a leading Australasian investment banking, financial advisory, securities and investment management firm that provides a broad range of services worldwide to a substantial, diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and high net worth individuals. On 26 February 2007, Goldman Sachs JBWere announced the appointment of Craig Drummond as chief executive officer. He took over from Terry Campbell.

Mr Drummond joined the Goldman Sachs JBWere in 1986 and most recently held the position of chief operating officer. In his previous roles with the firm, he was head of equities and head of research, and was acknowledged as one of Australia's leading banking analysts.

Sir Rod Eddington Non-Executive Chairman for Australia and New Zealand, JPMorgan

Sir Rod, who joined JPMorgan in October 2005, is one of Australia's leading international business figures. He successfully led British Airways' turnaround during one of the industry's most turbulent periods, serving as its chief executive for five years.
