PSC to acquire Gap Technologies.(Brief Article)

Bar-code scanner manufacturer PSC Inc. of Rochester, N.Y., has acquired the assets of GAP Technologies Inc. of Sharon Hill, Pa., including 26 issued patents and 18 pending ones. The privately held GAP Technologies designed and made miniaturized laser scan engines and pen-based scanners. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

PSC makes a broad range of laser and non-laser-based handheld and fixed-position bar-code scanners. The company recently announced a merger agreement with Percon Inc. of Eugene, Ore., which makes wireless and batch portable data terminals as well as decoders, input devices, and software.
