Long-term aircargo contracts have not been the norm in the airline industry, but Lufthansa Cargo might change that practice. Starting this fall, the German carrier says it plans to increase the number of long-term contracts it signs with freight forwarders and shippers. Customers who opt for these contracts will be guaranteed fixed prices in return for using a specific level of airfreight capacity.

By the way, Lufthansa also said it would raise cargo rates this fall.
