FEDERAL Health Minister Mr Tony Abbott has said a register for rural and remote practitioners could be unveiled as soon as July -but apparently the register will be only for fellows of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.

In a letter to ACRRM, Mr Abbott wrote: 'Initial accreditation of ACRRM's programs could be complete by the end of July 2006. When this is complete a formal register for rural and remote medicine and other accoutrements for the discipline can be established.'
