AN Australian expert has challenged findings from a study that showed women with a history of pre-eclampsia may be at increased risk of ischaemic stroke later in life.

The US study found, after adjusting for age and number of pregnancies, women with a history of pre-eclampsia had a 60% increased risk of ischaemic stroke compared with women without a history of pre-eclampsia.
