PROFESSOR Julian Savulescu is not afraid to set the cat among the pigeons.
In an essay recently published in the BMJ he called on doctors to put aside their personal beliefs and values when practising medicine -- or get out of the profession.
He is referring to doctors such as Dr David van Gend, a Toowoomba GP who will not prescribe the morning-after pill nor refer patients seeking an abortion.
