IT would seem that relief for the workforce shortage is in sight. The Federal Government has recently funded 400 new medical school places, on top of an extra allowance of full-fee-paying domestic students that has come in over the past 12 months. But will this help general practice?

This is a pertinent question for us. For any of you who doubt there is a workforce crisis in general practice, try getting a locum for an outer-urban or rural practice. Try even getting someone to work on Sunday afternoons or Friday evenings in our practice ...
