AUSTRALIAN GPs will be supported in their planning for a potential bird flu pandemic by a dedicated research project.

The project should help address a shortage of research into the provision of primary care services during such a crisis.

Professor Marjan Kljakovic, head of the Australian National University's academic unit of general practice and community health, is leading a $110,000 study to develop pandemic action plans for general practice.
