GPs drafted to supervise foreign hospital doctors.

A PUBLIC hospital in SA has taken the unprecedented step of drafting in a team of GPs to supervise its international medicine graduates, currently working as interns.

Modbury Hospital in Adelaide's north-east has entered into a contract with locum company gpSolutions to provide the GPs because of a shortage of senior hospital doctors. According to an Adelaide newspaper, each GP is being paid $1400 per shift.
