YOU don't have to be a Buddhist monk to benefit from meditation -- researchers have found changes in the brain's physical structure among typical working Westerners who fit regular meditation into their daily routine.

MRI of the cerebral cortex of 20 practitioners of a form of meditation called Insight, revealed increased thickness in regions of the cortex associated with sensory processing, according to a study published in NeuroReport (28 November).
