PARKINSON'S WARNING SIGN
SLEEP disorders such as sleep talking or violent motor behaviour may be an early warning sign of neurodegeneration and Parkinson's disease, according to German researchers.
Rapid eye movement (REM) sleep behaviours were common in neurodegenerative diseases and could occur before the characteristic Parkinsonian motor dysfunction.
Studies suggested the reduction in dopamine transporters caused increased muscle activity during REM sleep.
