NORMALLY I'm accused of unbridled optimism, but five years spent on national immunisation committees has given me a few gripes.

There is cause to celebrate our achievements in the past few years. Latest figures show a dramatic reduction in disease burden and deaths from pneumococcal and meningococcal disease, just a short time after the introduction of these vaccine programs.
