MIND OVER STOMACH

AN active mind is more beneficial for the cognitive development of nutritionally deprived children than administering nutritional supplements, a study has found.

Jamaican children aged 9-24 months given 'psychosocial stimulation' by a trained community health worker scored higher in cognitive and educational tests in their late teens than those given a food supplement.
