War on patient bad behaviour

EDITOR The article 'Patient violence: GPs on own' (7 October) opened with: 'More than three in every five urban GPs have faced violence from patients in the previous year, but there is still no nationwide education or training available to doctors to help reduce its incidence, academics have warned.' This is real ivory tower, biased thinking.

Surely it is the patients (the perpetrators) who need to change their violent behaviour, not the doctors (the victims of abuse) who need education and training?
