KNOWLEDGEABLE DADS MAKE BREASTFEEDING EASIER

Teaching fathers about breastfeeding increases the likelihood their partners will continue to feed and be more confident that they are doing the job well, according to an Italian study (Pediatrics 2005; 116:e494-98). A single training session on child care for fathers increased the proportion of mothers fully breastfeeding at six months to 25% compared with 15% in a control group.
