Mumps risk up in young adults.

MUMPS incidence has tripled Australiawide, and young adults are particularly at risk, the latest government report suggests.

There were 90 notifications of mumps between 1 July and 30 September 2006, which was 2.9 times the five-year average, the report said.

Half the cases were in young people aged 25-34, and three in five infected patients were not vaccinated.
