PATIENTS with a high probability of obstructive sleep apnoea can be successfully diagnosed and treated at home without the need for laboratory sleep studies, a study suggests.
Researchers used an algorithm to select 68 patients with a high probability of having moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnoea.
Patients were then randomised to standard management using polysomnography in a laboratory or to home management using auto-CPAP and oximetry without polysomnography.
