MJA Men are less likely to have a faecal occult blood test than a prostate or skin cancer screening test, despite bowel cancer screening having the strongest evidence for reducing mortality, Queensland research suggests.
Of 2300 men aged 50-75 who participated in a statewide phone survey, more than one-third reported never being screened for prostate, colorectal or skin cancer.
Of those who reported screening, they were 2.5 times more likely to have had a PSA test than a skin cancer screening test and half as likely to have an FOBT than a skin cancer ...
