A move away from general practice primacy risks hurting patient respect.

DOCTORS work long and hard to provide the best-quality care for their patients. Sadly, sometimes it feels like this commitment goes unappreciated as we deal with complaints, litigation and even patient violence.

Therefore, it is valuable to occasionally reflect on the fact that our patients really do value the service we provide. This was highlighted by the recent Roy Morgan Image of Professions Survey, which ranked doctors as the third most honest and ethical of professionals.
