DR Nafiz Banu has travelled a long road to general practice.
Ten years after leaving her native Bangladesh-- and after several years away from medicine -- the 39-year-old started her basic term this January. Dr Banu's husband, Dr Ainul Kabir-Hassan, also began his GP training this year and the pair work in the same practice in Yarrawonga, in Victoria's north-west.
"I am feeling very good," says Dr Banu. "My colleagues are very supportive."
