Death certificate errors add to grief.

ALMOST half the death certificates completed by Victorian doctors are incomplete or illegible, sparking concerns that funerals could be unnecessarily delayed and public health data compromised.

The errors often caused additional grief for families because certificates could not be processed until all information had been received, the Victorian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages said.
