GPs face having to search through a web site or thumb through a book to track down so-called Cyauthority codes' every time they prescribe a drug under the revamped authority script system.

Hailed as a major victory against GP red tape, the Federal Government announced last year that doctors would no longer have to call Medicare Australia for permission to prescribe about 200 authority drugs.
